Welcome to Merakai – dedicated to helping people reach their potential, to live fulfilled and inspired lives!
We believe that organisations are uniquely placed to create an environment where people can thrive and be at their best – both contributing to the greater good of the organisation, as well as to the individuals themselves.
Merakai – from the Greek word meaning ‘to pour your creativity, your love, your soul into your work so that it becomes an expression of you‘ – was founded to create an optimistic revolution. One where people wake up inspired and engaged by the work they are doing, and in turn inspire others through their expression of their extra-ordinary selves.
Founding Director Rachel Colla began her career as an educational and developmental psychologist but was quickly disillusioned by the focus on dysfunction and reaching ‘normal’, rather than optimising health and skills to reach potential.
She has spent the rest of her career dedicated to working with organisations and individuals to help them recognise the impact their belief systems have on their personal, educational and business success – and, importantly, how they can transform these to achieve greater performance and wellbeing.
The Merakai series of programs have been designed to draw on the science of optimal performance and positive psychology to create a workplace culture that creates extraordinary results.
We provide consultation, tailored workshops and keynote presentations to assist organisations and schools to lead the way in wellbeing and performance. We also have a series of programs for individuals looking to lead a purpose driven life.
We believe that when we are engaged in using our highest strengths in the service of others, both the workplace and ourselves can be transformed. When people are inspired and engaged by what they are doing the benefits create an incredible ripple effect… one that creates a revolution where individuals, families, schools, businesses, and communities are more happy, fulfilled and productive.
About The Founder
Rachel has built her career on helping teams unlock the potential that exists within individuals to create sustainable success.
This has been achieved through a variety of modalities; whether it be in leading strategic direction of teams in senior leadership roles, designing and delivering workshops and keynotes that bring the science of optimal performance and wellbeing to life, or coaching and consulting at both an individual and organisational level.
Her journey has spanned multiple including education, health, sport, funeral, aged care, construction, manufacturing and not for profit sectors, which allows her to draw on a broad perspective to help those she works with achieve greatness.
As a trained psychologist, Rachel has an extensive background in business education and people development. She has also run her own direct sales business, managing a team of 50, and therefore has an appreciation of the need to juggle both the needs of the business and leading a high performing team.
Rachel has been developing and delivering programs for businesses, schools and individuals for over 20 years, with extensive experience in:
- goal setting and achievement
- wellbeing & resilience programs
- consultative sales and service
- organisational culture
- change management
She has also lectured in wellbeing, motivation and performance; positive leadership and careers; social psychology; and delivered and assessed Diploma of Management programs at a tertiary level.
She is passionate about inspiring others to see possibilities but importantly determine key pathways to achieve that potential.
With a natural propensity to inspire others with images of the future, her strategic thinking and ability to bring out the best in others prevents a vivid vision from deteriorating into an ordinary pipe dream. Her strength is in engaging others to breath life into that vision so that it surpasses expectations.
